Frequently asked questions

Common questions about Angelus.

Direct answers about how Angelus works, what it does and what it doesn't do.

Does Angelus replace the police?

No. Angelus is a personal safety support layer that activates your network of trusted people and organizes the context of an incident. It does not replace the police, emergency medical services, firefighters or any official emergency service. In situations of immediate risk, also call your local emergency services.

Do my guardians need to install the app?

No. Guardians receive a temporary link to a web follow-up panel. They can see the location, battery level and incident history without installing anything and without creating an account.

What happens if I lose internet?

The system logs the connection interruption during the incident and resumes synchronization as soon as the connection returns. Angelus uses redundancy and multiple channels to increase the chance of alert delivery, but no digital service can guarantee absolute availability.

How does the Duress Code work?

You set up two codes. The normal code unlocks the app as usual. The duress code also unlocks the app in a seemingly normal way, but starts a silent alert to your guardians in the background — with no visible signs on the screen.

What is Scheduled Check-in?

It's a check-in with a deadline. You indicate that you should arrive somewhere within a period. If you don't confirm arrival within the set deadline, Angelus automatically starts an incident and notifies your guardians.

Can I delete my data?

Yes. You can request the deletion of your account and data through the official support channels. Some records may be retained when legally required.

Does Angelus work on iPhone?

The app is in Beta on Android and in development for iPhone. The guardian follow-up panel works on the web, on any device with a browser.

Who can see my location?

Only the guardians you register, and only during an active occurrence, through a temporary follow-up link. Outside an occurrence, your location is not shared automatically.

How long does the follow-up link work?

The link is temporary and stays active while the occurrence is in progress. After closure or session expiry, access is invalidated and temporary data is no longer available on the panel.

Can I cancel an occurrence?

Yes. Depending on the protocol, you can revoke the alert within a safety window (for example, with the Red Apple protocol). Guardians are notified, tracking ends and the follow-up link is invalidated.

Does the app work with the screen locked?

During an active occurrence, Angelus continues monitoring useful signals (such as location and battery) according to granted permissions. Exact behavior depends on the operating system, background permissions and device state.

What permissions may the app request?

Angelus may request location (including in the background during an occurrence), notifications, biometrics for local unlock and background execution to keep monitoring active. Each permission exists for a specific protocol — never for advertising.

What data is stored?

We store registration data, registered guardians, emergency events, session tracking data, device information (such as battery) and notification delivery history. See the Privacy Policy for details and your rights.
